Q: Do you repair homes for seniors or veterans not interested in a new home build?

A: No, the Erie affiliate currently does not renovate or repair homes. 

Q: Do you need to have experience to volunteer at a Habitat home site?

A: No, no experience is necessary. A trained construction professional will guide you every step of the way with provided materials. 

Q: Are Habitat homes free to applicants?

​

A: No, Habitat homeowners must qualify for a 0% mortgage repaid over 20-25 years. Homeowners must also perform a minimum of 300 partnership hours building on other Habitat homes as well as what will eventually become their forever home. 

Q: Are there any other ways to volunteer if I'm not a builder?

A: Yes! We are in need of ReStore volunteers to accept donations Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays. We also welcome volunteers for our various committees and events. Email volunteer@habitaterie.org, for more information. 

Q: My church group or business has a service day coming up. How can we help as a large group?
